Role Details:

Reporting to the Commercial Manager at Granny Smith, you will be responsible for all financial matters in relation to Granny Smith Gold Mine. You shall be regarded as a cost leader and expert in all aspects of Management Accounting covering month end analysis and forecasting. The Commercial portfolio at GSM includes; Finance and Planning; Supply Warehouses; Camp & Flights, IT and Administration.

This role is offered on a 4 days on 3 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.

About the role:
  • Coordination, preparation and analysis for budgeting and forecasting, also including continuous improvement of analytical reporting models and forecasting tools;
  • Detailed understanding of the cost drivers in an Underground mine site operation. Building relationships with key stakeholders and having a natural ability of presenting and influencing financial analysis information to a non-financial audience;
  • Key resource in supporting the Commercial Manager in coordinating the annual LOM strategic business plan with detailed quality business analytics;
  • Coordinate full end of month analysis and reporting. High attention to detail in reviewing and assisting with department accruals; understanding of complex contracts and rise & fall claims; reviewing costs and preparing journal transfers in partnership with the GSM Corporate Senior Accountant;
  • Contribute to the business' compliance requirements by ensuring systems, processes, advice, and outputs meet Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) standards;
  • Coordinate the sites capital compliance and discipline with Capital projects and forecasting;
  • Front line leadership in driving safety through our TOPS process.


About you:
  • Tertiary Qualifications - Bachelor of Commerce or Accounting
  • A CPA or CA Qualification would be highly regarded
  • Proven experience in a financial role within a mining environment
  • Advanced Microsoft skills and computer literacy
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems - SAP, AMT and Xeras Experience would be advantageous
