About Mount Milligan Mine

Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.

Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.

Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About the Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a full-time Electrical/Instrumentation Mill Maintenance Planner to join our Mount Milligan Mine operations site.

This is a camp-based position, with a rotation of 7 days on / 7 days off or 14 days on / 14 days off, with a 12-hour daily schedule.

Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Superintendent, the Electrical/Instrumentation Mill Maintenance Planner will be responsible for providing support to enhance the effectiveness of the mill operations and maintenance teams at the Mt Milligan mine.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing excellent safety leadership, while adhering to and sponsoring our safety culture, environmental policies, and procedures
  • Working in a team-oriented environment of instrument, electrical and mechanical trades
  • Developing and communicating the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance plans to all affected departments
  • Developing and communicating the weekly schedule to all affected departments
  • Monitoring the completion of the schedule, and coordinating changes as required
  • Creating work orders for all "approved" non-emergency work requests
  • Managing and controlling the storage and release of all parts and/or materials required for job "planned" jobs
  • Managing the work order backlog for all physical assets requiring maintenance
  • Reviewing all "completed" work orders to ensure all relevant job information is captured in the equipment/component repair history


About You

To qualify for the Electrical/Instrumentation Mill Maintenance Planner role, you must have electrical trade certification and 3+ years experience varied maintenance experience within the mining industry , or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

T he following skills and experiences will also be critical to successfully performing this role:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the operation
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to use integrated maintenance management systems and experience with MS Office software including MS Project
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with mill operations personnel and senior management

The ideal candidate will also be a self-motivated team player with a g ood work ethic, minimal supervision, and a strong attitude towards safety .
