Sourcing Analyst (1-year Fixed term Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a Sourcing Analyst who will support several business units in the RTP Africa region. The purpose of this role will be to Provides support to the Principal Category on strategic sourcing projects which contribute to the delivery of commercially favourable contracts and deliver optimal value to the Rio Tinto Business Unit.

You will be responsible for the following:
  • Conducting and implementing contract management (e.g.: contract execution, implementation, supplier reviews) for assigned contracts or arising from sourcing projects they have executed
  • Handling individual sourcing projects and/or a set of assigned commodities and contribute to value delivery through the deployment of Best Practices, procurement tools and negotiation skills.
  • Engaging, communicating, and influencing internal and external stakeholders at operational levels (Superintendent, Manager, Company representative)
  • Providing analytical and commercial support to peers and more senior Sourcing Specialists in the group.
  • Responsible for conducting and managing Supplier Relationships

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • 2-5 years' experience in Procurement, Consulting or related field
  • Degree or Diploma (Commerce, Legal, Engineering)
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to engage
  • An appreciation and ability to grasp Commercial Law, BBBEE and Mining requirements.
  • Familiarity or an ability to quickly understand a variety of supply chain concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficient in English and French language will be advantageous
  • Computer literate on MS Word & Excel
  • Experince working on SAP & Ariba systems
  • Experience in working within a multi-cultural environment
  • Project Management experience
