Candu Field Services (CFS) performs inspection and maintenance services to the fleet of CANDU nuclear reactors operating around the world. These activities typically involve the design, build, deployment and maintenance of specialized robotic tooling used for the primary heat transport system (fuel channels, feeders and steam generators). Our technical staff are experts in the design and use of complex tooling systems deployed during reactor outages in a radiation environment.

SNC Lavalin Inc is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our world-class IT team to fill a permanent full-time role located in Mississauga, Ontario. The chosen candidate will act as an Intermediate System Administrator. This role will provide leading information technology services directly to our end users .

Job Responsibilities:
  • Building and configuring Windows and Linux Servers on physical and/or virtualized platforms (VMware ESXi)
  • Installation and administration of 3rd party applications on servers.
  • Familiar with Enterprise grade storage arrays (NetApp and EMC)-
  • Administration of cloud-based solutions such as Microsoft Azure and O365
  • Troubleshooting and support for Windows and Linux based systems.
  • Supporting the Linux based High-Performance Computer Cluster based on IBM Platform LSF & Redhat Ansible
  • Script development for automating tasks in PowerShell
  • Perform system tuning and update activities where appropriate
  • Racking and installation of physical servers in a datacenter
  • Monitoring Server performance using tools such as Microsoft Systems Operations Manger (SCOM) and other tools.
  • Make recommendations to improve health of the systems where necessary
  • Ensure all documentation for the systems (build books, network diagrams) is created & updated after changes
  • Participate in various projects and work orders as assigned and complete assigned tasks on time;
  • Provide on-call support as scheduled
  • Coordinate service calls and requests with team members where necessary
  • Respond to incident tickets and provide updates in a timely manner. Escalate where necessary
  • Coordinate and implement change requests as a result of trouble tickets.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics and installation of layered products where needed


Qualifications:
  • BS or BA in computer science or related IT experience;
  • 5+ years of administration and support of Windows and Red Hat Linux in a large, networked computing environment;
  • ITIL certification, an asset.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Microsoft Azure and 0365 highly preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of clustered Linux environments and RedHat Ansible preferred
  • Ability to develop PowerShell scripts (Windows) and/or Linux scripts
  • Excellent organizational skills;

  • Self-reliance, creativity and proactivity;
  • Problem solving skills;
  • Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment;
  • Customer-service oriented;
  • Excellent fluency in English (French an asset), spoken and written;
  • You may be required to carry a cellular phone and provide 24/7 on-call support in rotation with other team members;
  • Security clearance - Level II - SECRET
