Globe 24-7 in partnership with Newcrest Mining, is working together to source experienced and qualified talent to join their Mobile Fleet Maintenance Department to support their Lihir Gold Operations (LGO).

The role will have responsibility to:
  • Ensure personal and team compliance with all company HSE requirements & policies including Fitness for Work.
  • Complete any HSE tasks only if the hazards and any potential consequences are understood and any corrections are firstly agreed by the relevant Supervisor.
  • Conducts mechanical maintenance on mobile fleet by ensuring a high level of understanding of operational issues including fault diagnosis, repairs, and equipment performance.
  • Performs preventative mechanical maintenance inspections on mobile fleet.
  • Leads and monitors mechanical maintenance activities of technicians.
  • Ensures maintenance schedules follow OEM recommendations and only genuine OEM parts are used.
  • Ensures maintenance records for mobile fleet are kept current.

Essential criteria
  • 3 - 5 years relevant work experience essential in large scale mining operations or heavy industry.
  • Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or Mechanical trades qualification or certification essential.
  • Previous experience in delivery and assessment of training desirable.

Desirable criteria
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously from time to time.
  • High attention to detail with good time management skills.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
  • Demonstrated ability in fault finding and maintaining diesel engines.
  • PNG Driver's Licence - Class 6 essential

The Requirements
  • Must be open to FIFO in PNG.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
  • Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last six months.
