Role Purpose

Newcrest Red Chris Mining Limited has an opportunity for a safety-oriented, self-motivated Mine Engineer Co-op Student (Technical Services). Reporting to the Mine Engineer, the Co-op Student will provide support to the Block Cave project team in a variety of engineering activities.

We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.

Accountabilities:

  • Actual engineering duties are subject to change based on Company needs, but can span the following disciplines and their respective tasks:
    • Drill & Blast: QA/QC, inventory management, over/underbreak analysis
    • Geotechnical Engineering: QC, routine inspections, instrumentation monitoring
    • Mine Engineering: Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, including drafting, data entry, volumetric and variance analysis, etc.
    • Surveying: development surveying, issuing of APicks-ups, drone operation, data analysis, etc.
  • Assuming other duties and responsibilities as required in response to changing circumstance and the economic and physical environment of the Company


Qualifications & Experience:

Active enrolment in Co-op a Bachelor of Science (or similar) BSc Engineering program
