Our Utilities Group carries out engineering, construction and operations activities across the power, renewable energy, water and wastewater, industrial and transport markets.

• Downer's in-house Engineering Services Team is looking for a Civil Engineer to join a team of over 100. The main responsibilities of the civil engineer are:

• Carry out design and documentation for tenders and detailed designs and provide construction support
• Work with civil designers to complete design packages
• Prepare Material Take Offs/Bill of Quantities
• Participate in and contribute to design reviews and safety in design reviews
• Provide tender phase, detailed design phase and construction phase engineering support
• Mentor junior staff and designers

The role is a full-time position in our established civil engineering design team based in our Milton office, Brisbane. Reporting to the Civil and Structural Team Leader - Northern Region, there is a horizon of renewable energy, power, water, industrial and transport work opportunities as part of this role.

ABOUT YOU

• You have a 4 year bachelor's degree in civil engineering as recognised by Engineers Australia.
• You either are currently CPEng and RPEQ or you are looking for help to achieve that in the near future
• You may have design office experience in consulting engineering or Design and Construct engineering to the industrial and infrastructure sector or you may have experience in the municipal infrastructure sector or urban development sector.
• You're interested to take the next step in your career and take on some more responsibility
• You will likely have 2-8 years of experience
• Experience in any of the following will be useful:

• Rural road design
• Bulk earthworks design
• Pavement design
• Services design
• Stormwater drainage design
• Erosion and Sediment Control design
• AutoCAD/AutDESK Civil 3D
• Report writing
