About the opportunity

Westrac is seeking an experienced and results driven Industrial Electrical Tradesperson to work within our Service team currently working at Mt Thorley workshop. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor- Electrical, you will be responsible for conducting overhauls and repairs of Caterpillar underground mining equipment to AS3800 standards and customer specifications. There will also be an opportunity for further training in line with Surface Product Line Electrical repairs requirements.

What we’re looking for

As the successful candidate you will possess the following skills:

• Trade qualifications
• Advanced Diagnostic Skills including reading schematics
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong computer skills
• Strong Safety orientation
• Full drivers licence

Desirable Criteria

• Sound knowledge and experience in Longwall equipment and systems (Caterpillar or similar)
• Experience in repair and overhaul of underground equipment
• High Voltage experience
• Familiar with AS3800 overhauling underground equipment
• Forklift licence
