About Us

Hatch is looking to engage a Instrumentation and Control Engineer as part of the Project Delivery Group (PDG) at our Perth Office, to service the Australia-Asia (AUA) region.

About the Role
As an integral part of the Australia-Asia Project Delivery Group, this role requires a switched on individual to utilise their experience in project documentation including specifications, verification and validation plans, implement testing of systems and system configuration and coding including control functionality and HMI.

Core functional tasks include assisting clients to develop an understanding of their user requirements, preparation of key project documentation including specifications, functional descriptions, routine review, assessment and plan for hazards, managing risk at every phase in the project lifecycle and undertaking detailed design of control and automation systems designed to operate in heavy industry.
The Instrumentation & Control Engineer will also provide technical guidance to our clients and third parties with integrity and confidence and possess an ability to work independently and safely to achieve project objectives and milestones.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity you require the following essential skills, experience and attributes :
• A degree in electrical, electronic and/or software engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered professional engineer (CPEng or equivalent) or demonstrated willingness to work towards obtaining professional accreditation.
• Certified Functional Safety engineer, experienced in the implementation of the design and implementation phases of the safety lifecycle process.
• Familiarity with the regulatory framework in Western Australia.
• Proficient and knowledgeable in working across a range off control system platforms and architectures.
• Recent exposure to alarm management practices and experience in developing high performance HMI.
• Working knowledge pertaining to the design and configuration of instrumentation, actuator positioners, drives and other equipment commonly found in the mineral processing and heavy industry environments.
