What You Will Do

This role is responsible for supporting Kinross' budgeting process, assisting with the preparation of consolidated budgets and forecasts, analysis to support the validity of budget/forecast results, analysis of actual results against budget, and other ad hoc analysis.
The role will work closely with the Financial Reporting and Operations Strategy groups to ensure the timely and accurate flow of information from the sites and regions, and the effective and efficient communication of results.

The Opportunity

This position has the unique benefit of great exposure to senior management as well as the opportunity to work with variety of different operational departments and global colleagues. The data that this team collects, analyzes, and reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, as well as budget and forecasting information, are used and analyzed by senior management to make important strategic decisions about the company's operations, as well as to support external financial reporting and investor presentations. It is a great development role to learn about the company and mining industry in general and as a result, many employees have gone on from this exact role into other progressively senior roles in a variety of different areas of the company, within and outside of Finance, including site roles

Must Haves

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • 2 to 4 years work experience in the same or a similar role
  • Working towards an accounting designation, financial training or engineering
  • Self-motivated, strong independent work skills in order to take ownership over deliverables and have the flexibility to complete and submit them on time
  • Strong excel and PowerPoint skills


Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation
  • Experience with financial auditing
  • Resource sector experience
