Position

Security Superintendent (Mali)

Introduction

The successful candidate is a security professional with relevant security qualifications and extensive experience in overseeing daily security operations. The incumbent has extensive experience in developing a security management plan and response plans for a site. They are responsible for managing the daily on-site security activities and any other security issues. The principal function of the position is to ensure the safety of all company officials at all times.

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Security Manager, this position will be an 8/4 fly in-fly out rotation, based in Bamako, Mali.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all loss control, site access, and other security issues;
• Maintain a superior H&S record and attitude;
• Look for cost reducing opportunities; and
• Other duties as assigned by the Company.

Competencies and Requirements

• Relevant security qualification (Bachelor’s degree, ASIS CPP, CSMP or equivalent);
• 10 years’ experience in Security, Military, Police or related field (experience in the mining industry is an asset);
• Broad exposure to all aspects of security operations, equipment and technology;
• Extensive and proven experience in crisis management situations;
• Excellent verbal communication skills in English and French;
• Superior attention to detail;
• Competency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word);
• Ability to adapt to changing conditions and proactively develop appropriate means and methods to meet and overcome challenges.
• Advanced Medical qualification/experience is considered an advantage.
• Advanced Close Protection qualification with international experience is essential.
