Regional Director - Mining

An international operator focused on operating in two continents is currently looking for a Regional Director - Mining for their largest jurisdiction overseeing multiple operations.

The company is ideally looking for an individual that runs a tight operation to best-in-class standards and has either worked with a contractor or for a mining contractor to understand working mentalities with a contractor on-site at their key operations.

The ideal Regional Director - Mining will be ideally a generalist Mining expert/engineer with scheduling and costs being the two best skills to have. Geotechnical is not so much of a need as consultants come in to do this. Your skills will also encompass:

• Operations bias
• The teams on site are strong technically but what is really needed is a strong mining and operations person to positively critique, enhance, question and interrogate the status quo and why certain things are being done at each site.
• Underground bias but some experience with open pit would be good.
• Proven track record with complex orebodies and mine types
• Has operated on or formulated a company to work at best-in-class standards
• Potentially would have worked for well renowned company or top-tier operation
• Large scale site experience would be highly regarded point
• A Regional Director - Mining with experience of tier-1 assets and dealing with multiples miens of this size simultaneously
• Evaluate prospects for M&A, JV or even additional work at sites already operating - e.g. UG developments
• A previous holder of a regional role held overseeing multiple sites would be a good fit.
