Position Overview

The Kiewit Power Delivery Transmission Line Estimator is a career level professional that assists in all aspects of the transmission line estimate from kickoff to turnover. The Transmission Line Estimator works to develop transmission line costs and estimate details. Your role is critical to make sure the job is estimated at the right cost. This position understands and owns the transmission line estimate throughout the process while following Kiewit's estimating standards. The Transmission Line Estimator has the opportunity to learn and understand other roles of Kiewit's Power Delivery business to continue their career development. The Transmission Line Estimator may assist and support the Estimate Sponsor when presenting the transmission line information to the executive leadership team during estimate reviews.

Location

This position is based out of our Power District office located in Lenexa, KS, and travel as needed to support their estimate workload.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing the transmission line costs of the estimate.
• Work on tasks assigned by Senior Transmission Line Estimator/Transmission Line Estimating Department Manager.
• Use Transmission Department estimating template(s) and standards for the estimate.
• Ensure all information is entered into the Kiewit estimating system to ensure an accurate estimate.
• Develop all engineering deliverables and issue these reviewed deliverables to the estimate team on schedule.
• Coordinate between the estimating disciplines and teams to cover all scope of the estimate.
• Incorporate the labor rates, with input from the Transmission Line Estimating Department Manager, to be used on the estimates.
• Assist in identifying and documenting the Estimate Clarifications & Exceptions related to the transmission line.
• Develop and assemble estimate review books for estimate reviews in accordance with the Kiewit estimating standards.
• Know and understand Transmission Estimating Department standard tools to be used on estimates.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or construction-related technology, OR extensive and related work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge, skills and abilities described above
• 2-5 years experience in a related role
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Knowledge and understanding of construction means/methods
• Strong attention to detail; strong communication, interpersonal, leadership and team-building skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Developed organizational and time management skills
