We are looking for students with curiosity, an explorer's heart, and a perfectionist's grit to help us expand the possibilities within the Mining Industry.
Whether supporting Environmental, Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Safety, or Business Support functions, our program seeks to help you develop an understanding of the mining industry, learn about our company and its operations, and appreciate how each discipline and department's contribution to the success of our mining activity.
While you benefit from on-the-job training and practical experience, you are expected to contribute fresh ideas and participate as a productive member of the department. Your growth as a professional and the difference you make will be on display every day.
Are you ready for the challenge ?
Our summer interns work a full-time schedule at one of our three locations - East Boulder Mine, Stillwater Mine, or Metallurgical Complex. During your internship, you will be working on a specific project, which will be presented to our leadership team, as well as day-to-day functions to develop and maintain programs within our G.E.T Safe Management system. This is a tremendous opportunity to gain experience across a broad-spectrum industry, which will provide you with the tools and knowledge for a meaningful and educational experience.
There may be the opportunity to work at several of our properties in Montana, including a smelter, refinery, and two mine sites. Salary will be commensurate with experience and a sizeable housing stipend will be provided. Health benefits are also available to take advantage of during the duration of the internship.
Our Mining Improves Lives
We are excited to offer two interns a Memorial Scholarship up to $10,000.00 each. The scholarship is in memory of Chris Bateman, Executive Vice President of Sibanye-Stillwater, US PGM Segment, whose life was cut short in September 2020. Chris leaves behind a legacy of promoting employee inclusion and development. He was also a big champion of our internship program and could see the value in providing students with meaningful opportunities. The scholarship selection committee will base its decision on the intern's experience, career goals, initiative, and application requirements.
