Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Ports and Terminals Master Plannerto join the Infrastructure Team in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth.

The Ports and Terminals practice is a global capability within the Transport and Logistics Business Unit that primarily serves Infrastructure clients with ports and marine engineering needs. Within the Hatch global response network, we also work closely with all sectors where Hatch have clients with ports or marine needs, be it in Mining, Metals or Energy.

As a Planner in our Ports and Terminals Team, you will provide professional planning services to effectively manage and coordinate the preparation of port master plans, long-range strategic plans and terminal level development plans, including needs assessment, capacity analysis, alternative development options for port facilities and supporting landside infrastructure developments for the planning, design and construction of brown and green field port facilities.

Our planning projects range from local to international engagements, for various types of terminals including container, break-bulk, general cargo, cruise and naval facilities.

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Knowledge of port and terminal operational efficiency and productivity
  • Knowledge of marine terminal engineering and infrastructure
  • Familiarity with terminal planning tools / applications and GIS software
  • Visionary, problem-solving, and analytical skills


You bring to the role:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and established planning experience. You will have high level communication, collaboration, interpersonal and time management skills and the ability to operate across all levels of employees, management, and clients.
