Description

Under general direction, responsible for the development and implementation of programs, projects and activities designed to increase and retain membership in the Fitness Center.

  • Direct and supervise membership staff
  • Plan and schedule meetings, develop agendas and coordinate staff training
  • Develop and ensure that established procedures for processing prospective member applications are consistently followed
  • Coordinate, manage, track, and evaluate all membership and renewal activities, including new member, renewal, and potential member mailings; plan and implement strategies to meet membership goals
  • Monitor and evaluate program quality and enrollment
  • Perform public relations duties; respond to complaints and inquiries
  • Be available, visible, and approachable to staff
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times with member, participant and staff information and records
  • Assist in the coordination of community events
  • Perform other duties as required


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least three (3) years of relevant experience, OR
  • High School diploma or equivalent and seven (7) years of relevant experience
  • Current CPR for the Professional, AED First Aid, or ability to obtain within first 90 days of employment
  • Supervisory/Management skills
  • Demonstrated competency in management, administration, promotion, and program development
  • Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects
  • Ability to oversee and manage consultants
  • Knowledge of budget preparation, monitoring, and administration
  • Proven experience in building relationships with families and health seekers of all ages and abilities
  • Strong customer service, listening, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with people
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
  • Working knowledge of Recreation programs and their management
  • Working knowledge of the rules of a variety of sports
  • Development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Knowledge of landscape architecture, contracting and construction projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with computers including word processing and database software
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

Criteria/Conditions

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Work is mostly performed in an office setting
  • Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds during the course of the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
  • Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable State Laws


Freeport-McMoRan has reviewed the jobs at its various office and operating sites and determined that many of these jobs require employees to perform essential job functions that pose a direct threat to the safety or health of the employees performing these tasks or others.
