Position Overview

Would you like to purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost for Kiewit Supply Network? What about Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives? Individuals with experience in an engineering and/or construction related role as well as basic procurement experience is desired, but not required. We're looking for a team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives. Someone that is detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time.

District Overview

Kiewit Supply Network group specializes in providing comprehensive procurement services to clients across the construction and engineering industries in multiple markets, including transportation; water/wastewater; power; oil, gas and chemical; building; and mining. Our key objectives are to offer clients a world-class service focused on ensuring equipment, materials and services are consistently estimated and procured at the right price. We strive to offer an appropriate level of quality and ensure materials and services are delivered on schedule and in compliance with the client's specifications and expectations.

Location

This position is based out of our office in Lenexa, KS. This is a shared service environment in a professional office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of category strategies through detailed analysis of the category spend across all geographical areas
  • Gather, cleanse and analyze supplier spend and performance data
  • Closely monitor category KPIs with regards to pricing & commodity trends, supplier capacity, supplier news, industry news and new product developments
  • Analyze KPIs for intended results in assigned categories and make necessary recommendations to category managers
  • Perform research to understand market trends for assigned categories
  • Review updates from multiple third-party analysts on the market forecasts with respect to assigned categories
  • Organize and communicate observations with category managers and leadership
  • Perform cost analysis and set appropriate benchmarks for suppliers and commodities against Kiewit projects and districts
  • Accountable for data integrity and records management from multiple sources
  • Support supplier management programs with key suppliers including the development of performance metrics (Spend/Saving Tracker, KPI's, SLA's, etc.), performance goals and improvement initiatives, monitor and report on supplier performance and compliance
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • 1-3 years' experience in an engineering and/or construction related role is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, supply chain management, construction management or equivalent degree from an accredited university
  • Functional knowledge of ERP systems, including ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Self-motivated, driven to succeed, strong critical thinker, and able to think and communicate in terms of process flow
