Position Description:

Want to be a key piece of our ESG Strategy? This role will develop and lead our greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction strategy, programs, and engagement across the business to meet Nevada Gold Mine's net zero target. The successful candidate will coordinate with site based GHG reduction champions, technical experts in core support roles, and senior leadership team to drive GHG emission reduction projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and refine strategy to meet GHG emission reduction targets and zero-emission energy supply
  • Identify, scope, evaluate, develop, prioritize, and execute projects which reduce GHG emissions
  • Develop capital and operating expense estimates for GHG emission reduction projects
  • Review and validate GHG emission reduction calculations and develop additional tracking tools
  • Maintain accurate records of approved, committed, expended, and forecasted project costs
  • Monitor GHG emission reduction projects to ensure they remain within time, cost, and scope constraints
  • Understand fundamental mining operations and practices, ensure GHG reduction projects do not adversely impact mining operations
  • Perform risk and consequences analysis for GHG emission reduction projects
  • Engage stakeholders who may be impacted by GHG emission reduction projects to determine and account for their needs and requirements
  • Develop and maintain understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices; communicate key trends, risks, and potential impacts to management
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field required
  • Experience in fields related to GHG emissions, air quality, environmental performance, or projects
  • Effective communication skills, including communicating technical, commercial, regulatory, and market details to all levels of the organization
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams across sites and through influence
  • Managing multiple projects and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and practical application of MS Office products
  • Knowledge of project management and organizational skills including time management, leadership, and decision-making concepts
