Our client is a Vancouver-based, TSX-listed listed, well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financial capacity aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. They are recruiting for a VP of Finance to oversee their treasury assets and establishing and maintaining a framework for compliance with associated borrowing and streaming obligations.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as a primary contact for external treasury relationships, including senior lenders and streamers.
  • Administering bonding and surety programs.
  • Assisting the CFO in preparation of ongoing Board and Board Committee communications and materials.
  • Directing investments of surplus corporate cash to ensure optimum return while also effectively managing concentration risk.
  • Establishing a framework for ensuring covenant compliance with credit and stream agreements
  • Establishing and formalizing treasury management policies.
  • Establishing suitable and nimble financial markets (foreign exchange, commodity price and interest rate) risk management policies.
  • Forecasting cash and monitoring with a focus on financing needs and identifying funds available for investment.
  • Leading debt refinancing processes, researching, and analyzing financing alternatives and providing recommendations, liaising with targeted banks regarding market opportunities.
  • Overseeing the preparation of treasury reports, the insurance placement and enterprise risk management process as well as the annual corporate budget preparation.
  • Owning and maintaining the Corporate Financial Model, including annual updates to reflect revisions to short and medium-term planning.
  • Participating in, and sometimes leading, the evaluation of potential M&A opportunities.
  • Providing oversight of gold lift and metal sales (commercial) process, as well as monitoring revenue collections.
  • Researching and analyzing hedging (FX and commodity price) alternatives and providing recommendations.
  • Spearheading responses to creditor and investor due diligence activities
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 10-15 years financial leadership experience, ideally in the mining industry.
  • Depth of understanding of treasury management concepts and principles with an ability to simplify complex arrangements and agreements.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation or master's degree in finance.
  • World class communication, project management, coordination and planning skills.
  • Experienced with ERP systems.
  • Team player able to work independently and collaboratively and who follows through on tasks, works well under pressure, delivers results on time while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Knowledge of electronic data rooms and contract management software.
  • Willing to live and work in Vancouver, BC
