In this role, you will be responsible for the timely delivery of materials to the workplace, request expedited deliveries if delivery dates don't match our needs, or look for materials through a different internal or external source. Your understanding of material lead times, especially for critical spare parts, is paramount for this role. You will collaborate with maintenance planners and supervisors across the mine, and monitor and analyze material usage trends in order to identify improvement opportunities and influence workload flow, so that material and spare parts costs are minimized.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Planning the delivery of materials and spare parts required for planned work orders
  • Reviewing work packages and recommending additional materials or service requirements to the planner
  • Coordinating logistics, including verifying that supply delivery dates meet scheduled timeline requirements; requesting expediting of shipments as necessary; replacing suppliers as appropriate; sourcing materials from other departments or tasks when possible; and if no other option is feasible, rescheduling or changing task scope to accommodate material availability
  • Preparing and processing any documents necessary to obtain the materials needed for planned work orders
  • Coordinating the assembly of a single complete package of materials for each work order
  • Working closely with, and making recommendations to, the maintenance planer to create accurate work packages which include your perceived need for additional materials to complete tasks
  • Coordinating with the purchasing department for buying and expediting needs, and with warehouse personnel regarding deliveries, availability of spare parts, and task package preparation
  • Coordinating with the maintenance scheduler on task packages/kit completion dates
  • Coordinating with maintenance supervisors regarding the delivery of task packages to the workplace
  • Returning unused spares to warehouse or suppliers as needed

About You

To qualify for the Parts & Materials Coordinator role, you must have a minimum of 5 years of Millwright or Electrical trades experience, as well as a Mill-related trades certification and a strong mechanical maintenance background. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in MS Office programs.

  • Ability to work effectively and coordinate with others
  • Ability to manage your own time effectively
  • Project Management experience or training (asset)
  • 2+ years Maintenance Planning experience (asset)

Lastly, you will join us with a highly collaborative mindset, fostered by integrity, focus, and incredible work ethic. Your excellent communication skills and your ability to prioritize tasks with competing deadlines will be essential to your success as a member of the team.
