POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Superintendent, the Electrical Supervisor will lead the mill electrical maintenance team and supervise all related activities and resources on a daily basis. This is an integral role requiring strong leadership capabilities and the foresight to recognize and overcome any potential challenges. This individual will be directly responsible for providing leadership of the electrical maintenance personnel to ensure safe, efficient and continuous operation of the process plant.

MAGINO MINE:

The Magino Project is a brown-fields site located in northern Ontario, Canada that contains an historical underground gold mine, and tailings management facility ("TMF"). The Corporation has conducted a Feasibility Study during 2017 that examined mining the deposit using conventional open pit mining methods and extraction of gold from the ore using a 10,000 tonnes per day carbon-in-pulp ("CIP") mineral processing facility. When developed, Magino will produce around 150,000 ounces of gold during the first five years of production. The project has over a 15-year mine production life (including one year of pre-production).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Promote and maintain strict adherence to health, safety, environmental and community relations concerns and regulations.
  • Implement and monitor mill maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Research and propose new projects for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the preparation of budgets and monitor costing and performance.
  • Partner with the Metallurgy team to monitor and continuously improve plant performance.
  • Partner with the Operations team to ensure the right preventative and corrective maintenance is conducted at the right time and with the least disruption to production.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with other departments to ensure safe production, cost, and other strategic business objectives are met.
  • Provide specific training and development opportunities for hourly employees.
  • Counsel and coach subordinates concerning performance, employee relations, safety, environmental compliance, productivity and cost control.
  • Assign, prioritize and supervise the daily tasks for electrical and instrumentation technicians, ensuring that the predictive and preventative maintenance programs are followed.
  • Provide vacation relief for other supervisors.
  • Provide technical guidance, support and supervision to maintenance personnel.
  • Manage the maintenance backlogs with minimal interruption in the operation of the milling, backfill, refining and crushing plants.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance records are maintained on major components and equipment.
  • Identify and manage inventory level of critical spare parts.
  • Coordinate site visits by specialized contractors.
  • Participate in company related training and development initiatives.
  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 5 years of mineral processing maintenance experience with 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Expertise in mill and ore processing equipment maintenance with gold processing being a strong asset.
  • Solid knowledge of OHS requirements.
  • Computer proficiency including computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Superior ability to comprehend and interpret technical drawings.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with a variety of industrial electrical and automated equipment and related control systems.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading a team in a maintenance environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, health, risk management, and environmental standards.
  • Start-up, operational readiness and commissioning experience is considered an asset.
  • Effectively manages performance and development of others.
  • Remains focused during challenging situations and functions well under pressure.
  • Maintains emotional control under stress and applies tact under difficult circumstances.
  • Be able to fill in as acting Superintendent Mill Maintenance in their absence.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • The role is located at the Magino Mine, which is approximately 88 kilometres northeast of Wawa, Ontario, Canada.
  • The ideal candidate for the role will ideally work a rotation of 7 days on and 7 days off (12-hour days).
  • Although you will be assigned a work schedule, this is not a guaranteed schedule of hours, and your work hours may vary with the needs of the company.
