Position title: Manager of Environmental & Permitting

Company: International Mining Company with significant assets

Reports to: General Manager

Salary: $150,000-$180,000 + 25% Short Term Bonus + Long Term Bonus (Company performance) + Pension + Company vehicle + Relocation

Location: Ontario, Canada

Roster(s): 7 days on / 7 days off OR 4 days on / 3 days off OR 8 days on / 6 days off

The opportunity: You will be a fundamental leader across the exciting asset in Canada, this mine site is the flagship mine for the company's portfolio and offers plenty of opportunities for future development.

You will lead the environmental & permitting department, reporting into the Mine General Manager, ensuring compliance and regulations are met within state, that the permitting applications are lodged to ensure next phases of the mines development and leading the team - coaching, mentoring, and developing those team members into future leaders for the company.

Core responsibilities:
  • Planning and management of environmental strategy, programs, systems
  • Permitting & compliance
  • Effective management of environmental team
  • Develop and initiate mine environmental strategy
  • Community and indigenous relationship management


Key requirements:

  • Environmental leadership experience at a Supervisor, Superintendent or Manager level within Mining
  • Qualifications or degree education in Environmental related studies
  • Mine permitting experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to simplify technical aspects environmental and permitting matters for audience
  • Experience with handling multiple regulatory and other bodies in Canada
