What You Will Do

Support the Kinross Technical Services (KTS) Geology department in analytical, coordination and reporting work to meet key corporate and site commitments. Reports to the Manager, Resource Geology, and assists other professionals within KTS. Contributes to the design and development of processes, practices, and methodologies in geology. Partakes in activities related to the data collection, modelling and analysis of geological information and processes to ensure that Company standards are met. The role spans the entire mining life cycle from discovery, exploration, development, construction, operations, closure and reclamation.

Must Haves

  • 3rd year student in Geology or Geological Engineering
  • Lodgings in Toronto for the duration of the placement
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong time management skills; the ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Language skills in French, Arabic, Portuguese, or Spanish
  • Experience working with culturally diverse teams

  • A demonstrated interest of having a career in mining
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office suite and/or Geographical Information Systems
