YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the General Superintendent - Mining, you will be part of the Strategic Optimization Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Accountable for the safe and productive operation of the Strategic Optimization Department;
  • Ensure that the Strategic Optimization team objectives, goals and priorities are aligned with both delivering results and supporting business priorities;
  • Develop, monitor and control the operating budget of the department;
  • Provide technical, managerial and developmental support to the Strategic Optimization team and act as a coach and mentor;
  • Structure and coordinate site wide efforts for collecting, analyzing, benchmarking and prioritizing improvement opportunities at Meadowbank;
  • Support department leaders in developing and implementing improvement plans;
  • Plan and assign strategic optimization resources to drive key improvement initiatives and create value at site;
  • Implement cost control culture and productivity improvements to be able to increase cashflow;
  • Utilize own expertise to evaluate and implement tools and frameworks for operational improvement opportunities;
  • Develop communication channels with and between departments, liaise and discuss results with involved departments and stakeholders to drive a continuous improvement culture;
  • Develop reporting and lead periodic management update meetings to present progress of ongoing projects.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience within continuous Improvement roles;
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a similar role;
  • Understanding of work in the mining industry a must;
  • Proven problem-solving and learning capacity, with a creative approach to various situations and issues;
  • Experience with change management;
  • Proficiency with costing and budgeting;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule:
  • Schedule: Flexibility is required for this role and can be 4 days of work followed by 3 days of rest, 7 days of work followed by 7 days of rest, or 10 of work followed by 10 days of rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
