Our Team:

The Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) Team at Creighton Mine is an integral part of Vale’s long-term operating strategy. As part of the Creighton Team, you will be supporting the Maintenance Departments in scheduling all work required to keep the plant running efficiently. Working closely with Maintenance Supervisors, as well as other maintenance and operating departments, in scheduling all inspections and repair work will minimally impact the plant’s production..

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking to fulfill a full-time permanent position for an Electrical Planner to join our Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) Team at Creighton Mine in Sudbury, Ontario.

As a Planner, you will be accountable for continuously improving the work team (crew) performance through effective use of established processes and procedures. You will also be accountable for electrical maintenance planning within Creighton Mine as well as providing relief supervision as required. Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Work Monday to Friday, 8 hours day shift
  • \t
  • Adhere to maintenance business processes as outlined in Maintenance Planning and Control (PNR000004) by using approved systems (SAP, Prometheus, etc.), tools and standards.
  • \t
  • Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including supervisors, schedulers, superintendents, crew members, etc.
  • \t
  • Execute the “Planning and Provisioning” element of the process for all types of work orders - systematic and non-systematic maintenance. This includes shutdown (PMP) and external resource related work.
  • \t
  • Coordinate and facilitate all required planning/scheduling routines.
  • \t
  • Ensure WO user statuses are properly maintained throughout the lifecycle of the work order.
  • \t
  • Review and promote/reject all new notifications into your work center through the group approval process.
  • \t
  • Ensure work orders are planned and ready to be executed prior to the required end date as determined through the notification.
  • \t
  • Work within assigned budgets and escalate to management should a budget be exceeded.
  • \t
  • Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of work orders for completion by their Required End Date.
  • \t
  • Manage backlog to ensure work orders are planned based off priority and required end date.
  • \t
  • Communicate and coordinate with procurement partners to ensure requisitioned items arrive as scheduled.
  • \t
  • Create and update task lists to capture routine work and efficiencies.
  • \t
  • Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets.
  • \t
  • Relief supervisor as necessary which requires:Holding the crew accountable for safe behavior, housekeeping, teamwork and professionalism.
  • \t
  • Ensure planned work orders are closed with proper time confirmations completed.
  • \t
  • Work within budget, guidelines and standards.
  • \t
  • Work with crew to develop an interactive workplace environment.


About You

Education
    \t
  • The ideal candidate will have a college diploma or university degree in a related industrial field
  • \t
  • The ideal candidate will have valid industrial trade certificate for the province of Ontario
  • \t
  • Generic Supervisor Common Core (770141) is preferred.

Experience
    \t
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working within SAP and the Prometheus add-on.
  • \t
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading crews.
  • \t
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the electrical trade.
  • \t
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft Office Products, etc.
