Job Description:
Summary:
The person in this position will work on high-voltage electrical-substation structural steel and foundation design, including steel and foundation layout drawings, structural-steel fabrication/erection steel details of shop-drawing quality, foundation details, steel and concrete foundation quantities, and bills of materials. Responsibilities may include coordinating structural analysis/calculations, performing quality checks, verifying drafting standards, and mentoring junior designers and drafters. The person in this position will be a member of multidisciplinary teams working on projects for power utilities and renewable developers.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $21.92 - $41.40/hour. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus. Minimum Qualifications:
- 2-year technical or engineering certificate/degree or experience/coursework directly related to the responsibilities described above
- 5+ years of related work experience
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness
- Willingness to work as part of a project team in an environment that encourages self-motivation
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Experience with steel detailing
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microstation
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills involving work with high-voltage substation and transmission distribution design
- Experience in the consulting industry
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams
