Responsibilities:

•Provide strong leadership in the area of safe mining operations, by becoming knowledgeable of quarry and local geology to aid in prospect planning and inform other employees of geologic structures or strata that may affect safety.

•Plan and coordinate annual development and exploration drilling programs to meet operational requirements and Life of Mine resource definition, including: preparation of maps, specifications, and budgets communication with interdisciplinary department (e.g. Environmental) acquisition of supplies, on-site supervision of contracted drilling crews core logging, core photography, sampling in accordance with Cliffs' QA/QC protocols, submission of samples to laboratory, compilation, and validation of sample analyses preparation of statutory, stakeholder, and internal reports

•Maintain and update Geology Information Management Systems, which holds and manages all drill and sampling information.

•Maintain and update the geologic model(s) and assist in development of geological resource/reserve estimates. Meet all required site reporting of resources and reserves.

•Oversight of lithium/boron quality including statistical analysis of source data, and the development of quality models in 3D mine planning software.

•Conduct routine inspections of pit walls, including recorded observations of geologic structures, fracture zones, bedding or intersections with geometries that potentially impact pit wall or underground stability as designed.

•Conduct routine field geology observations, measurements, and analysis (geologic mapping) to support the ongoing maintenance of geological model(s).

•Use the knowledge of observed and predicted geological structures and material competency to assist mine planners, geotechnical engineers, drilling and blasting engineers, and mine operations in safe and effective mine designs, and safe mining practices.

•Utilize GIS and 3D Mine Planning software (e.g. Carlson, Leapfrog, Vulcan, Hexagon Mining) for input and output of geological data and reporting.

•Produce geologic maps based on field observations and surveys.

•Maintain records of model-predicted ore quality characteristics and track against actual mine-delivered to reconcile predicted quality and/or metallurgical response and incorporate that knowledge into forward-predictive functions. Lead and/or assist in reconciliation between models and production.

•Manage geologic projects with mid- to long-term focus supporting resource-to-reserve conversions and life-of-mine plans.

•Assure all practices related to drilling and logging, sample preparation and analysis, and resource database management meet or exceed company's

Minimum Operating Standards for Estimation of Mineral Resources:

•Participate in short-range mine planning by providing geologic information/perspective.

•Identify improvement opportunities that reduce mine costs while considering safety, environment, quality, and productivity.

•Interact with operations, suppliers, contractors, and other administrative and technical departments as required

•Grade Control

•Lead and assist in the establishment of best grade control practices, systems and procedures

•Collect grade control information and relate conditions of the mine in relation to grade control.

•Estimate grade of production faces and record information daily; advise on ways to improve the grade at production faces.

•Ensure the most efficient method of mining with the best grade possible; disseminate grade control information to all necessary staff.

•Geotechnical Monitoring

•Assist in deployment and maintenance of slope monitoring tools including prisms, radars, vibrating wire piezometers, TDR, etc and the interpretation of the monitoring data

•Assist in the geotechnical data and observations and communication with Operations team support in Quarry as well as interceptor hydrologic dewatering and water resource development

Other duties as assigned.

•Sit or stand for extended periods of time

•Stay alert during periods of inactivity

•Walk on uneven ground

Minimum Qualifications:

•Degree (B.Sc.) in Geology, Geological Engineering or equivalent.

•3-10 years geology experience.

Additional Qualification Considerations:

•3-10 years of experience in a mining operations and exploration with supervisory (or lead) experience.

•Experience with GIS and 3-D Mine Planning software modelling.

•Proficient in using one of the specialized geological and mining modelling software applications, like Gems, Leapfrog, Surpac, Vulcan, Minesight, Datamine, etc.

•Experience in managing databases, QA/QC protocols, geostatistical analyses and 3D modelling

•Familiarity with mineralized systems, rock alteration, geologic and structural mapping
