The successful candidate will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team on a range of projects focused primarily on ventilation. The Ventilation Engineer will be responsible for developing and supporting the planning, execution and management of safe and productive mine operations.
Responsibilities
Ventilation:
•Plan, develop and maintain primary and secondary ventilation plans for the underground portion of the mine
•Conduct regular ventilation surveys
•Collection of Ventilation data throughout existing development
•Ventilation simulation for both current and planned development
•Ventilation sequencing for future stoping activities
•Identify necessary ventilation equipment and power requirements
Mine Utilities:
•Design and sequencing of air/water/electrical mine utilities advancement
•Utilities infrastructure specifications
•Develop overall budget for utilities over range of current mine plan

Education and Experience
•Undergraduate degree in mining engineering, or a related field
•Practical experience working within the underground mining environment
•Experience in the following is strongly desired:
•Mine ventilation system design
•Ventilation surveys
•Fan evaluation and selection
•Cost estimating
•Project management
•Basic understanding of ventilation modeling and ventilation principles
•Practical experience using AutoCAD, VnetPC and/or VentSIM Design software
