Mine Utility Foreman
Summary:
Supervises and coordinates the activities of mine bargaining unit employees engaged in performing mine utility work in support of safe and efficient mining processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs the activities of subordinates assigned to perform work in support of the mining process associated with ore transportation, power and water distribution, mine ventilation, roadway maintenance and distribution of supplies. Addresses inappropriate behavior of subordinates. Provides training to enhance subordinate knowledge and performance.
Inspects work area to ensure specific operational performance, optimum utilization and safety standards are being met. Investigates irregularities, upsets and accidents. Recommends procedures and methods to improve subordinate and equipment output and employee safety. Coordinates utility activities with mine maintenance and production departments.
Interprets Company policies to subordinates and enforces safety regulations. Ensures compliance with the Labor Agreement and addresses complaints at the initial step of the grievance procedure. Ensures adherence to standard operational procedures and work practices related to quality, quantity, safety and efficiency.
Maintains time and utility reports and records in a timely and accurate manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Must possess excellent leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.
•Must be able to communicate across all levels.
•Must have ability to prioritize assignments and make well-reasoned timely decisions.
•Must have knowledge and understanding of safety and efficient mining practices, procedures and regulations.
•Must possess Wyoming Mine Foreman / Examiner certifications.
Education and/or Experience:
•Bachelor's degree in related field and 2-3 years' experience; or 5-7 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
