JOB SUMMARY:

To safely supervise, motivate and participate as part of the technical team to identify and realize aspects associated with ore processing, to maximize gold ounces recovered. Develop testing regimes and analyze data for project work to realize process plant recovery and throughput improvements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•Maximize the value from our natural resources, plant and equipment through:

- No lost time injuries.

- Strive to improve areas of safety and environmental compliance.

- Development of team members to add value to the mine and individuals within the team.

•Active participant in Gold Standards program

•Conducts investigative and systematic testing for plant recovery improvements, cost reduction and/or plant throughput improvements.

•Attends to a variety of production / metallurgy/ore supply meetings, and maintain required channels of communication between departments

•Mentors new members of the Metallurgical Team.

•Assists in managing and directing Metallurgical staff to maximize metallurgical process.

•Coordinates and manages external Consultants and Resources

•Supervises and coordinates activities for Metallurgical Laboratory.

•Takes on additional responsibilities of the Metallurgical and Operational Superintendent's in the Superintendent's absence.

•Attends to trainings/development programs and to perform other reasonable duties required by the Company from time to time.

•Demonstrates at all times the values of respect, integrity, teamwork, innovation, action & accountability.

•Adheres to environment, Health & Safety policies. Contributes to the achievement of targets & objectives, and applies procedures, permits and instruction.

•Responsible for Plant Critical Variables and optimization to meet budget goals

•Start to become familiar with operating Budgets and forecasting spreadsheets

•Works closely with other departments to ensure reliable ore supply

•Prepare and review AFE's for plant-based improvements

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position Qualification:

Knowledge:

1. Detailed understanding of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.

2. Detailed knowledge of comminution, flotation, CIL, carbon handling, refining, cyanide destruction.

3. Detailed knowledge of analytical and metallurgical laboratory operations.

4. Knowledge of plant process control systems including advanced process control techniques.

5. Detailed knowledge of Metallurgical accounting procedures and gold standards protocols.

6. Excellent problem-solving skills with complex problems, including both definition of the problem and generation and evaluation of solutions.

7. Strong planning and organizational skills, including goal setting and monitoring of both own and others' performance.

Education and Experience:

1. Degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering. Master's degree preferred.

2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in ore processing operations with experience in supervising / leading teams and people.

Communication Skills:

1. An advanced level of oral and written communication skills in English is required.

2. The ability to write and review detailed technical reports is required.

Mathematics Ability:

1. College level mathematics skills required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.

2. Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday.

3. Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.

4. Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber safety-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
