About the role

We are looking for a Procurement Analyst who will support our Port and Dampier Salt operation (DSL). The role will work closely with the Business Partner Ports & DSL on assigned sourcing and support projects which contribute to the delivery of commercially favorable contracts and deliver optimal value to the Rio Tinto Business Unit.

You will be responsible for the following:
  • Preparation and management of reports aligned to individual reporting requirements.
  • Handling individual sourcing projects and/or a set of assigned commodities and contribute to value delivery through the deployment of best practices, procurement tools and negotiation skills
  • Conducting and implementing contract management (e.g.: contract execution, implementation, supplier reviews) for assigned contracts or arising from sourcing projects they have executed
  • Engaging with, communicating to, and influencing internal and external stakeholders at operational levels (Superintendent, Manager, Company representative)
  • Providing analytical and commercial support to peers and the senior Sourcing Specialists in the team.
  • Administer contract pricing to ensure purchase orders are using agreed contract price and that suppliers invoice at the agreed contract price.
  • Logistics support - scheduling, monitoring, communicating, problem solving.
  • Ensure data integrity, including problem solving where there are mis-matches
  • Identify and implement best practice and advise process improvements to drive efficiencies (process/product/people)

About you
  • Tertiary qualification (Diploma or above)
  • Previous experience with multi-national companies in Mining, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Utilities, Automotive, Marine, Rail or Aerospace industries;
  • Good time management and problem solving skills;
  • Strong Excel spread sheet skills (able to create management tools such as modelling and scenario analysis etc.);
  • Strong analytical capability and the ability to effectively collate and compile data;
  • Ability to communicate succinctly verbally and in written form with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Prior experience in data analysis, reporting and systems design;
  • An ability to work unsupervised and be a self-starter;
