POSITION SUMMARY

Downer Group has an opportunity for a Project Superintendent to work on a FIFO 2/2 roster at Barrow Island to support our team.

This role will be responsible to lead, plan, direct and control the operations of the allocated project and direct the contract team for successful project delivery in accordance with clients' expectations safety, quality, time and cost objectives.

ABOUT THE ROLE
  • Manage all aspects of contract delivery from site and team-set up to handover through the application of Downer Contract Management tools and systems.
  • Develop and review operational planning and monitor progress of the allocated project.
  • Ensure the contracted works are on schedule and within quality and estimates.
  • Ensure timely engagement of personnel are suitably skilled to undertake assigned work tasks.
  • Provide guidance regarding the development and delivery of employee training.
  • Lead and direct the project team for successful works delivery in accordance with clients' expectations safety, quality, time and cost objectives
  • Develop strong lasting sustainable community relationships through supplier engagement, employment and training opportunities
  • In conjunction with the Contract Manager and contract staff prepare detailed plans identifying sequencing of works, methodologies and work packages required by the contract / statutes.
  • Provide commitment and support to ensure all aspects of the Project Management Plan and Compliance systems are implemented.
  • Monitor the planning the progress of the contract to ensure that productivity, quality, and cost objectives are met.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented if threats to programme/ budget occur.
  • Regularly review and monitor contract costs and take corrective action if significant deviations from budget occur
  • Complete in a timely manner required client reporting.

ABOUT YOU
  • Trade / Tertiary Qualified preferably Mechanical / Electrical or Building Services.
  • A strong background and focus in project management and construction.
  • Minimum of 5 years + in a Superintendent / Project Management capacity
  • A specific focus within the resources sector, social infrastructure, critical facilities
  • Strong knowledge and experience of above markets and sectors including development of technical and financial concepts to benefit the end customer.
  • Forecasting and ability to consider changes, trends, threats and opportunities which impact on contract forecast budget projections.
  • Ability to understand and apply commercial concepts.
  • Intermediate knowledge of electronic reporting and asset management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, proactively broker and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to interface with business leaders and to understand their strategic objectives.
  • Proven ability to identify and close out value add opportunities pertinent to the contract.
  • Strong capabilities in MS-Office products specifically MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, MS-Outlook.
