The NZ Transport Agency along with its delivering agency the Mt Messenger Alliance, is constructing a new section of SH3, between Uruti and Ahititi to the north of New Plymouth in Taranaki which is located entirely within the rōhe of Ngāti Tama. This new section ofSH3 will bypass the existing approximately 7.4km steep, narrow and winding section of highway at Mt Messenger.

As the Project Engineer your role will be to manage all aspects of the civil and structural operation reporting directly to the Project Manager - Tunnels. You will have the opportunity to develop and maintain strong client relationships, liaise with the public and prepare progress and claim reports. You will also have a quality and safety ethos and perform audits and checks to ensure compliance with Health & Safety, quality and environmental policies.

About you:

We are looking for individuals with the following skills and experience:
• A formal civil engineering qualification (BE, NZCE)
• 5 + years' experience in a civil engineering position
• Ideally experienced with bulk earthwork, Concrete and Civil construction and Tunnels
• Experience in reviewing technical drawings and design
• Excellent organisational skills and demonstrated customer relationship management skills
• Sound project or engineering operations experience, including budget management
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent computer skills
• A self-starter, highly motivated and goal oriented
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety initiatives
• Willing to learn and build your career in a fast-developing regional business
