About the role

We have an exciting opportunity in Christchurch for a Foreperson who will be leading the crew as we carry out works for the top of the South! Spend your days outdoors and on your feet enjoying the fresh air and mountain views, whilst taking your career to the next level with Downer!

Working on a variety of projects, no two days will be the same. You'll be leading the Christchurch Milling crew in a Safe, Productive manor with a high focus on Quality, Production outputs and budgets.

About you

Along with your civil experience as a Foreperson, you will be organised, as effective planning is crucial to the success of this role. You will also have a proven record of leadership experience as you will need to be a respected leader providing direction and controlling activities whilst also working alongside the team in the field. You will need to be a strong leader with a can-do attitude, you will also have great technical knowledge and a passion for Asphalt Application. Other experience we will be looking for are:

• Demonstrated experience in Asphalt application
• Demonstrated experience in leading a high performing team
• Able to conduct basic risk analysis applicable to surfacing/construction operations
• Be a 'Team Player' with excellent communication skills
• Have a good understanding of mathematics as applicable to surfacing operations/construction
