Position Overview

We are looking for a Supervisor to lead and oversee a team of 10-12 Analysts, Leads and Specialists that provide Union Benefits reconciliations, payments and related processing and support. This team supports all of our union employees in the US and Canada for all Kiewit organizations, and works with 200 to 300 unions at one time, processing weekly benefits payments. This is a high volume, highly transactional team, working in a fast paced environment, supporting internal and external customers. As a Supervisor, you will be responsible to ensure effective collaboration between internal and external partners to promote efficiency and accuracy in the payroll reporting department.

This position is based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. This is not a remote work opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of 10-12 Analysts, Leads and Specialists that will include training, mentoring, process improvement and providing guidance with technical and personnel issues. This team executes all Union Benefits Payments weekly and monthly, performs audits and reconciliations, provides reports to Unions, regularly interfaces with Kiewit employees, Unions and other organizations.
  • Lead day-to-day operations of the Union Benefits processing department performing high volume, highly transactional functions in a fast paced environment.
  • Provide feedback and encourage learning by team members; create growth opportunities for others, transfers knowledge to others and challenges them to develop their own solutions. Articulate clear performance goals, establishes priorities, and provides frequent performance measurement feedback, holding the team accountable for quality and accuracy within the payroll process.
  • Pro-actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement within the department and act upon findings to initiate improvements, presenting ideas in a persuasive way to gain support.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external Kiewit departments; understands Kiewit's core business and promote a sense of urgency toward business critical issues.
  • Develop action plans with timelines in order to implement strategy; involve others in the process; incorporate best ideas into plan and gain buy-in through effective communication.
  • Manage assigned cases in Service Now Ticketing system.
  • Monitor team workloads and progress of all union benefit related reconciliations, evaluated status and discrepancies; assist with auditing union benefit payments, supplemental payments and mailing, and any other department duties.


Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required in related field
  • Must have experience with Union Benefits payment processing, or similar high volume, transactional field in a corporate atmosphere (Accounts Payable, Payroll)
  • Prior SAP experience required (or similar system) and strong orientation towards technology to utilize systems to improve processes.
  • Must exhibit the following competencies: Leadership skills: emotional intelligence, effective verbal and written communication, coaching, problem solving, conflict resolution, delegation, able to handle pressure and tight deadlines, talent management, team-building and continuous improvement
  • Ability to anticipate and identify the root cause of problems, seek and consider alternative solutions, collaborate with others as needed to gain support and implement lasting change , as well as the ability to identify, recommend and implement process improvements/enhancements to create efficiencies within the department
  • Ability to motivate and coach individuals to develop their skills, enabling them to achieve their best and to contribute to the overall success of the team and KBS
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively in a fast paced environment
