The Role and the Company

The Assistant Plant Manager role is based in Peebles, OH and reports directly to the Area Operations Manager.

What you'll get to do

•    Assist in the planning and directing of the daily operations of the quarry.  
•    Assist in production planning, staffing, and day-to-day manufacturing operations in a cost-effective manner
•    Prepare an operational schedule and coordinate production activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications
•    Troubleshoot and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
•    Establish key inventoried items needed for all MRO (maintenance, repair, and operation) items for the plant, and effectively interact with governmental and regulatory agencies, customers, vendors, Lehigh Hanson management, and neighbors as required.
•    Assist in quarry development and mine planning and reporting.
•    Manages product inventory.
•    Coordinates and attends safety and departmental meetings.
•    Ensures plant and mobile equipment are kept in good and safe working condition to maximize asset throughput.
•    Works closely with plant maintenance personnel to determine optimal times for production equipment repairs.

Essential Experience and Skills

•    Bachelor's degree with mining-related discipline or the equivalent in relevant work experience
•    Quarry experience and understanding of crushing and process equipment desired
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Excellent organization and time management skills
•    Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
•    Solid understanding of government regulations and demonstrated ability to impact safe working practices
•    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
•    Ability to communicate clear and concise instructions in a professional manner

Preferred Experience and Skills 

•    Prior supervisory experience preferred

Work Environment 

•    Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions
