The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Technicians - Mechanicals for 5 x positions on Lihir Island, PNG. Reporting to Supervisor - Mechanical, Shovels and Drills, Mobile Fleet Maintenance. You will provide mechanical fitting on mobile fleet unites within an open pit environment.

The role will have responsibility to:
  • Ensure personal and team compliance with all company HSE requirements & policies including Fitness for Work.
  • Complete any HSE tasks only if the hazards and any potential consequences are understood and any corrections are firstly agreed by the relevant Supervisor.
  • Provide ongoing daily services in inspecting, installing, fault-finding/troubleshooting, repairing, and testing mechanical equipment on mobile fleet as required.
  • Ensure documentation, maintenance and service records for equipment are complete and kept up to date

We are looking for someone who has:
  • 3 - 5 years relevant work experience essential in heavy industry preferably within a mining environment, either through experience in a similar operation or through progression as an NML Trainee Operator
  • Proven Experience with the following equipment will be looked upon favorably; Epiroc and Sandvik Surface Blasthole Drills (D65, PV271 and D55SP), Terex RH200, Hydraulic Shovels or Caterpillar 6050's, Hitachi EX2600 & 1200 Excavators.
  • Relevant experience in maintaining equipment in mobile fleet.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously from time to time.
  • High attention to detail with good time management skills.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills.
  • Genuine commitment to safety and following
  • PNG Driver's License - Class 6 essential

Qualifications:
  • Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or Heavy Equipment Fitting essential.

Mobilization Requirements:
  • FIFO roster
  • Ability to provide/obtain valid police clearance
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment
