About the Role:
WorkPac are seeking a Workplace Health and Safety Advisor to join our client based in Cairns on a Monday to Friday Roster, with regular travel required. This role is for an expected duration of three months, with potential for extension. Reporting to the Principal WHS Advisor the role is responsible for a range of WHS activities and environmental technical matters within the building, construction and maintenance industries.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the WHS management and environmental systems
  • Ensure safety compliance
  • Identity and manage Risks
  • Provide WHS and environmental advise to management and staff
  • Support and assist in implement WHS actions
  • Reporting and investigating incidents, hazards and accidents
  • Conduct audits and inspections
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Development and review of policies and procedures

Skills and Experience:
  • Construction industry related trade qualification (highly desirable)
  • Maintenance and/or Construction experience (preferred)
  • Current Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction Card
  • Previous experience providing workplace health and safety advice
