About the role

The APAC Planning and Regional Sales Specialist is responsible for the facilitation of all aspects of demand planning relating to the APAC portfolio (SIOP and multi-year budget generation), delivering on sales and market development targets for the Australian and New Zealand accounts, input into the development of the APAC market strategy (short and long term), contribution to commercial decision making of the APAC portfolio and to act as the primary stakeholder in collaboration with all supporting functions such as Market Analysis, Finance and Compliance.

The position will be required to engage with both internal and external stakeholders and is both a frontline customer facing role and serves as a middle office coordination and planning facilitator between APAC commercial and the Commercial Planning department.

The role will also coordinate with other regional accounts teams on short- and longer-term sales in order to achieve the best outcome for RTB overall. This includes spot and bilateral discussions, for the placement of our products. In this process, the role will assist in the analysis of customers' requirements, business models and other market intelligence to facilitate the development of RTB's optimal placement strategy, in conjunction with other regional teams. Additionally, the role will assist in coordinating internally on Global commercial and market development related issues.

Reporting to the Sr Sales Manager, Borates APAC, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:
  • Coordinate regional sales managers and commercial stakeholders to facilitate all aspects of demand planning for the APAC region.
  • Accountable for input into our stakeholder management, customer plans and support negotiations for all Australia and New Zealand customers to ensure that RTB's commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Work with APAC Sales Managers, Technical Marketing and Strategy to help capture future demand opportunities for RTB products.
  • In conjunction with relevant internal stakeholders, lead the development of the 1-2- and 3-5-year strategic plan for the APAC portfolio.
  • Lead the formation of the APAC annual sales budget.
  • Responsible for mapping and refining the formal internal view of APAC competitive landscape on an annual basis.
  • Develop and implement strategies and sales plans for Australia and New Zealand to deliver annual sales performance (revenue, margin and tonnes).
  • Develop and implement customer segmentation and distribution strategies to maximize margins.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with key customers and distributors.
  • Form business cases that analyse deals / contracts / transactions to confirm value proposition and provide risk assessment of each deal.
  • Provide market input and commercial expertise for operational planning.
  • Management reporting (sales, costs, market) for the area of responsibility.
  • Input into decisions around the tactical management of the portfolio and short-term sales opportunities, in coordination with the commercial, regional and global sales teams.
  • In collaboration with customers and the RTB Sales Managers, identify market opportunities and threats in a timely manner so that market insights that emerge from such interactions can be pre-actively converted into delivered and measured actions in a timely manner.
  • Actively support group commercial initiatives through cross collaboration with RTE&M commercial teams and assist in executing these initiatives.
  • Accountable for collecting and collating timely market intelligence and feedback from customers across markets and products.
  • Assimilate market intelligence and customer knowledge into a commercial view to assist Senior Sales Managers with product distribution and contracting in APAC.
  • Track and report on financial performance metrics related to RTB APAC.
  • Lead collaboration with supporting functions such as Market Analysis, Strategy, Compliance and Finance as required.
  • Accountable for the successful outcome to target of the sales plan and market development activity for Australia and New Zealand accounts.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • College/University Tertiary qualification in Technical, Commercial, financial, or a related discipline is essential.
  • Secondary Asian Language beneficial. Post-graduate qualifications in related discipline. MBA or CA will be highly regarded.
  • Able to engage directly with commercial teams to make recommendations on customers to form price on key products and deliver incremental value over time through superior price outcomes and risk management.
  • Develop price tension through contribution to short- and long-term allocation decisions. Including, but not limited to, selective and opportune placement of key products through alternative sales channels.
  • Identify and obtain fair & full value for our products whilst optimising current and new market opportunities.
  • Using data analytics from a dispersed range of market sources and exercising judgement on often inconsistent China public data to make recommendations to the RTB Commercial team to enable them to take risk-balanced decisions on price and placement.
  • Sustain reliable, credible and insightful data gathering to support the data-driven models that will improve our organisational agility and capability to make time-bound, value-adding decisions, around the choice and timing of product placement in the long and short term.
  • Being cognisant of both external and internal pressures in making and implementing independent, fact-based pricing decisions in a time-bound environment and incorporating such awareness into decision-making.
  • Aligning the needs of key stakeholders requires high level communication skills and awareness of larger organisational and political issues.
