Job description:
General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)
Mechanical Trainer will be required to develop and deliver mechanical training, including mechanical safety, to MPSA employee as well as contractors and subcontractors/vendors working for Minera Panama project. Prepare assessment materials and criteria, conduct assessment of personnel in mechanical discipline .
Qualifications (required for job) & Knowledge & Experience

• Technical degree and/or an extensive equivalent experience (10+yrs) in process plant training.
• Must have 5+ years of experience or relevant work history.
• Strong hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
• Strong heavy plant equipment mechanical trouble shooting and fault finding skills.
• Shaft alignment knowledge and skills.
• Machining knowledge and skills using a lathe and milling machine.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawing, specifications, and component installation skills.
• Strong ability to work in a "team" environment as a mentor.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organisational and record keeping skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Computer fluency is a must with expertise in maintenance management systems and MS Office.
  Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables
  • Create training strategies, initiatives, and materials.
  • Develop schedule to asses training needs.
  • Provide the ongoing maintenance and improvement of training related matters.
  • Provide internal and external training.
  • Provide support in compiling compliance evidence as needed.
  • Monitor all employees to ascertain if follow-up training is necessary.
  • Ensure full and accurate training records are being maintained as per compliance requirements.
  • Promote a positive culture and sustain the required level of maintenance training compliance.
  • Maintain the training capabilities and records for the maintenance team.
  • Perform other duties as required.

      Operational Requirements
      Cobre Panama is a remote site. This exciting position is based on-site and will be focusing on driving and delivering operational accountability and ownership across various units at Cobre Panama site. Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements.
      Environmental Responsibilities
      • Comply with current environmental regulations in Panama
      • Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.
      • Comply with the provisions of the Minera Panama Environmental Management System.
