Hatch is seeking a co-op student in the Environmental Services Group for the work term beginning January 2023. Reporting to the Regional Director you will support projects globally working from our Vancouver office.

Key Responsibilities:

o Determine environmental permitting requirements for projects.
o Support environmental assessment and management assignments.
o Work within project teams to identify environmental and social requirements and challenges
o Conduct background research on environmental and social aspects of projects.
o Support environmental due diligence assignments
o Support ESG team with proposals, internal marketing material development, etc.
o Storing documents in Hatch’s document management system (iPas DM).
o Preparing presentations using PowerPoint.
o Creating templates using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
o Assisting in typing and formatting proposals.
o Creating marketing materials for the Environmental Support Group and clients.

Education and Qualifications:
• 3rd or 4th year university student preferred
• A number of education disciplines could be appropriate: Environmental Engineering; Environmental Science; Law; Political Science; Sustainability; First Nations Studies; etc.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is a must.
• Strong inter-personal skills and ability to build relationships with a diverse group of people
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as experience in environmental projects
• Ability to work proactively, think quickly, and respond to changing demands
• Strong technical writing
• Knowledge of and interest in Environmental Assessment and Management, Corporate Social responsibility, Aboriginal Engagement, and Stakeholder Engagement
