The Role:

In this role, you will supervise and mentor our internal Utility Locator Technicians within the Auckland area and deliver timely, safe, and high-quality Utility location and other USL services to our customers.

This will allow safe and effective protection of underground utility networks for our customers.

Key responsibilities include:
  • To manage the effectiveness and efficiency of workflows, e.g. time, materials, costs, resources.
  • To ensure a positive relationship with the team and our customers.
  • To work within risk and event management and mitigation guidelines.
  • To provide technical support
  • To lead service/delivery improvements
  • Champion USL Utility Mapping services

This is a full-time (40 hours a week) permanent role. The role is paying between $75,000 - $82,000+, experience dependant

About you:

As a proven leader, you will quickly gain the respect of your crews and credibility with our clients. Your ability to communicate technical information and develop rapport will allow you to maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrating natural leadership skills, you'll enjoy coaching team members and become a valued mentor to assist your people in their career development and to deliver results for our customers.

In addition, you'll offer:
  • NZQA L3 Telecommunications qualifications, or similar, or minimum 3 years relevant industry experience
  • Plus minimum 2 years' experience in a Team Leader role within the telecommunication or utilities industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of network architecture
  • Ability to read and interpret network services plans.
  • Skills and experience in GIS and applications (Esri ArcGIS)
  • Full New Zealand Drivers Licence.
