Principal Civil / Geotechnical Engineer

SRK Consulting is an employee-owned, independent, international consulting practice, providing integrated consulting services to the international resource sector.

We are seeking Principal Consultant level Civil or Geotechnical Engineer with experience in the design and/or project management of Tailings Storage Facilities and a strong desire to expand or continue their career in this growth area of the industry.

The successful candidate will be part of our Brisbane based team which provides excellent opportunities to working on challenging projects and the opportunity to provide design input to best practice standards. If you're not from Brisbane but would consider relocating, SRK will provide relocation for you.

Description of Responsibilities:

• Undertaking and overseeing geotechnical investigations and interpreting results.
• Undertaking engineering analyses such as stability, seepage and water balance modelling.
• Preparing technical deliverables including proposals, reports and construction documentation.
• Overseeing construction and operation of mine waste facilities.
• Project Management.
• Liaising with internal and external clients.
• Working with and leading other team members, specialists from other disciplines and mentoring junior staff.

Essential Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• At least 8 years' post-graduation experience.
• The ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills and language fluency in English.
• Australian Resident or existing Working Visa (essential).
