Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance and Asset Management, Superintendent, Reliability and Asset Health is accountable to effectively implement, lead and control HVC's Reliability and Asset Health processes. This includes root cause analysis, defect elimination and maintenance strategy improvement as well as evaluating the Reliability processes, conducting analysis, and completing evaluations and documentation to support and enhance the Reliability processes.

In conjunction with implementing and controlling the processes, the role is also accountable to align Plant and site-wide priorities and set expectations for the reliability team. The role ensures the output provided by the reliability team is to an appropriate quality and provides recommendations on how best to balance the workload across the team to ensure the highest overall impact to HVC.

To be successful, we are looking for someone with a strong critical and conceptual thinking skills and the ability to prioritize activities to support the achievement of our project Key Performance Indicators. Being forward thinking with excellent organizational, planning, and decision-making skills while coordinating efforts of a technical team and multiple consultants will be necessary. We require someone familiar with risk based inspection processes, project management principles and change management experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Monitor, analyze and improve the Reliability processes to ensure fit-for-purpose.
  • Work with the Functional Area Managers and Reliability Engineers and Specialists to align priorities and set expectations for the reliability team on deliverables, due dates and quality.
  • Define, develop, communicate, and analyze key performance indicators for reliability.
  • Maintain a prioritized list of the reliability improvement objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance to the Reliability Engineers and Reliability Specialists.
  • Identify and coordinate the delivery of Reliability coaching and training.
  • Supervise and mentor the Reliability Team
  • Help maintain and enhance the Reliability Process documentation.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Eligible for registration or registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. (EGBC); Teck will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
  • 5+ Years of reliability leadership experience
  • 10+ years experience performing reliability engineering in an industrialized environment
