Title: Student Intern, Procurement - Houston

Position Summary:

Hatch Houston is seeking a Student Intern with interest in developing a career in the consulting field and who enjoys working in a dynamic environment. The Student Intern will gain exposure to the project lifecycle and all disciplines on the project i.e. Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning depending on the phase of the project. The Student Intern's responsibilities will be to provide transactional and analytical support to the Project Controls and Procurement teams.

The Student Intern must be a driven and proactive person who seeks information from the project team and learning of Hatch systems, processes, and procedures.

Education and Experience:

Essentials:
  • Must be working towards graduating or recently graduated, with a Degree in Engineering, Commerce or Business
  • Excel academically while being actively involved in extra-curricular and/or volunteer activities at school or in the community
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Profound English written and verbal communication skills
  • High quality presentation skills and proficient use of PowerPoint
  • Negotiation skills

Preferred:
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Office & Microsoft Project)

  • Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects
  • Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges
