Please note: This position has the possibility of working remotely within 150 miles of Phoenix, Arizona for a percentage of the scheduled work time, as determined by the supervisor. Description

Perform financial and process analysis for Corporate Management Information Systems (MIS) and Financial Shared Services (FSS) including financial reporting and analysis, capital and expense budget facilitation and maintenance, strategic MIS/FSS planning, project controls, investment oversight and prioritization, and vendor management. The Lead Financial Analyst will identify, design and implement financial management solutions by working with key stakeholders to enable continuous improvement in delivering services across Freeport-McMoRan.
  • Facilitate / support the development of and maintain the MIS/FSS financial budgets and forecasts (expense and capital) including conducting variance analyses; Assist in process definition and maintaining measures, tools and financial support. Report and maintain capital and expense forecasts and actuals for the MIS/FSS departments; work with Finance and Accounting departments to provide information and data to accurately forecast department and project financials.
  • Create / Maintain departmental cost allocations and calculate monthly distributions; communicate allocations changes and answer questions relating to the allocation. Provides insights and consults with the CIO and MIS/FSS executive leadership team on financial plans and implications.
  • Prepare journal entries and accruals for the MIS/FSS departments; prepare accrual account reconciliations for Corporate Accounting group; act as liaison between MIS/FSS departments and Accounting / Controllers groups.
  • Collaborate with GSC for MIS/FSS vendor/services Contract and Service Order requests, execution and renewals; invoice/receipt submittals and reconciliation, including identifying variances and performing root cause analyses.
  • Support project-related financial analysis (e.g., cost/benefit analysis); facilitate proper financial treatment, per Company financial Policy, for project spending.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations, documents and materials for management presentations and reports.
  • Performs other responsibilities as requested.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

This position requires air travel.   • High school diploma or GED and nine (9) years professional experience in accounting or finance; OR
  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or closely related area and seven (7) years of experience in accounting or finance; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or closely related area and five (5) years of experience in accounting or finance; OR
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or closely related area and three (3) years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Experience using SAP for accounting and financial tracking / analysis functions
  • Excellent skills in financial accounting and analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working effectively with staff , management, and end users, and has been a liaison between vendors, contractors and Information Systems personnel.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, presentation and facilitation.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/issues simultaneously.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with minimal direction.
  • Desire to be operate and proactively participate in a team environment.
  • Prof iciency in Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in working in an Information Systems environment with large corporations, i.e. Fortune 500 companies.


Criteria/Conditions:
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
