Position Overview

Kiewit seeks a highly motivated writing intern to join our Energy and Industrial marketing team. This intern will gain corporate writing experience developing engineering and construction content for marketing collateral, digital media, presentations, events, videos and other client-facing materials. The ideal candidate possesses the flexibility to write in various tones on diverse subjects, targeted to an array of audiences while maintaining a cohesive, professional brand voice.

Location

This position is based out of our Denver, CO office.

Responsibilities

  • Produce fresh, on-brand copy, seamlessly adjusting approach between technical and creative deliverables
  • Research, outline, write and edit compelling and engaging technical and nontechnical content for client-facing marketing materials
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, thought leaders, subject matter experts and team members within our organization to develop technically complex yet clear and concise content
  • Pivot tone from technical to more personal for video scripts, advertisements, events and philanthropy-related communication
  • Assume accountability for copyediting final marketing deliverables (errors and inconsistencies)
  • Use AP style guidelines and maintain the department industry-specific style guide to ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone)


Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in writing, marketing, journalism or a related field
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality with attention to detail and consistency in work product
  • Strong writing, organizational, problem solving and time-management skills
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Works well independently and on a team; a positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Ability to professionally incorporate constructive feedback
  • Regular, reliable attendance
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required, Adobe InDesign preferred

Base Compensation: $15.00/hr - $23.00/hr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
