The Intermediate Cost Engineer under supervision, develops professional proficiency in the delivery of cost management services by providing professional support to invoice validation, cost forecasting and reporting, change management and close out administration, including assistance with procurement, earned value and value engineering. We are seeking candidates with at least 6 years' experience within the mining or oil/gas sectors.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Responsible for the gathering, analysis, and interpretation of data. Develop, Implement and enhance high impact business process improvement projects.

• Provide information to project team on both regular and ad-hoc basis and support report preparation and distribution.

• Perform cost based transactional duties on behalf of team members such as Requisitions, Purchase Orders and Project Set Up requirements

• Helps with month end cost based duties such as Cashflow Forecasting, Accruals and Reporting.

• Ensure that our information systems and resources are optimally aligned to support our business objectives.

• Develop productive working relationships with all team members and vendors and report timesheet and actual cost performance against assigned Capital Projects.

• Assist in analysis of all vendor data submitted to client based cost management team members where applicable.

• Support preparation of monthly performance reports for senior management.

• Undertake updates of Dashboards, ScoreCards, Key Performance Indicators and reports for Project Services team members. Check data quality and data integrity of reports.

• Maintain queries and processes to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and integrity.

• Analyze business data. Identify variance trends and patterns and report accordingly.

• Support collation of HSSE statistical information and report accordingly.

• Support cost based daily duties as instructed by Project Controls client teams.

• Assist in client Timesheet requirements to ensure accurate information is presented at all times.

• Support Project Cost Engineers in system inputs and Budget Load activities on a ad-hoc basis.

• Support Change Management Coordinator in the production of month end Change Logs for project teams.

• Report Purchase Orders out of funds to project team members for action.

• Assist in project close out activities.

• Have a direct and profound effect on a data-driven organization

What will you contribute?
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field Preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with Ecosys or SAP is preferred. Must be articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and good decision-making abilities. Must have good communication skills.
  • Finance and or accounting experience preferred
  • Must generally understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Cost Management systems.
