Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Who we're looking for

The Lead - Contract Management will provide team management and overall process co-ordination to promote the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operational control of Cadia's Contract Management Team and Contract framework, in accordance with legal requirements and company objectives.

Reporting to the Principal - Procurement and Contracts, the primary focus of the role is to ensure Contract Management activities and resources (post-contract award), are deployed efficiently and effectively across all required activities throughout the lifecycle of the contract. This includes the provision and overseeing of ongoing support to site Contract Owners and Operational Contract Leads, for all Site Procurement led and managed categories and contracts.

Finally, the role requires strong collaboration with Cadia's Lead - Sourcing and Contracts, and Souring and Contracts Team, to ensure Newcrest and Cadia creates and protects value across the entire end-to-end procurement process, for all procurement and contract requirements.
  • Lead the execution of Contract Management activities for all Site led and managed contracts, in compliance with Newcrest's Procurement Standard, DoA, and Contract Management Framework, including:
    • Contract Administration activities (in unison with site contract owners and operational contract leads)
    • Contract Performance Management activities
    • Ongoing contract governance and reporting
    • SRM: deploy and oversee the management of SRM, where appropriate to do so
    • Contract close out
  • Develop and foster successful, long-term business relationships and ongoing process improvements with key suppliers, internal stakeholders, and peers to enable ensure contracts and contract management is effective.
  • Provide input into the segmentation of contracts, to determine the optimal level of contract management intensity. Deploy resources efficiently to ensure that contracts can be managed effectively in alignment with their segmentation tiering (high, medium, or low)
  • Provide support for the delivery of contract management processes including change management, progress claim verification, variations, site instructions and letter correspondence between Newcrest and contractors
  • Facilitate and provide input into sourcing and contracting strategies, based on best practice, key learnings in contracts under management, value opportunity or leakage identified, and to drive continuous improvement across the end-to-end process. Identify opportunities for operational and procurement process improvement
  • Serve as the primary contact relating to all Site led and managed contract management requirements. Manage contract owner compliance to NML policy (training and audit process)
  • Oversee the maintenance of an accurate register and Vendor Management Report to support Contract Owners and Strategic Leadership Teams
  • Define authority levels, DoA and key contract management processes where necessary and in line with corporate guidance
  • Prioritise high value, high safety risk contract reviews to ensure a high level of safety standards and practices are implemented contractors. Work in conjunction with the safety team to undertake gaps and needs analysis

You will also possess the following):
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, in supply chain and procurement within large-scale, complex operational environments
  • Experience in establishing maintenance and support agreements.
  • Robust stakeholder management experience.
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational management skills, proven ability to establish work plans and schedules for work activities
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project.
  • SAP experience and experience in a mature Contract Management System (CMS) is preferred.
