Job description:

General Role Purpose (brief description of this job)

This role is primarily responsible for the analysis and reporting of payroll data to management including the improvement and optimization of existing payroll reporting. This also entails the preparation of labour budgets and forecasts in conjunction with HR, including all reporting and analytics.

Qualifications (required for job) & Knowledge & Experience
  • Education
    • Finance, Accounting or similar bachelor degree.

    • Understanding of cost accounting
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of working within a large organization and a proven understanding of financial reporting and data management.
    • Payroll experience preferable with an understanding of Panama labour laws
    • JD Edwards (preferred) or similar ERP system
    • 3 years in Supervisory role (desired)
  • Language
    • Spanish/English

Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables
  • Optimization of payroll reports by:
    • Establish a consistent reporting schedule.
    • Develop and manage data visualizations.
    • Automate data collection/retrieval
    • Developing KPI's.
    • Understand needs of the business and tailor reporting accordingly
  • Account reconciliations
  • Maintain and optimize Internal Controls to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with Financial Accounting, HR, Timekeeping & Operations on new any new business requirements and optimizations to the payroll function.
  • Interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendations upon the research findings.
  • Compile, analyse, and distribute financial reports as needed
  • Manage Forecasting and budgeting models
  • Ledger maintenance for payroll accounts
  • Control, report, analyse, and ensure cost consideration is part of all payroll decisions.

Operational Requirements

The role is characterized by managing large volumes of financial and non-financial data in a high-pressure environment. The candidate will need to conduct themselves in a safe, effective and caring manner that considers each individual's need for comfort, privacy, and respect.

Office Environment. Site visits could will be required from time to time.

  • Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.
  • Comply with the provisions of the Minera Panama Environmental Management System.

  • Ensure all Safety and Environmental incidents are addressed & reported promptly.
  • Demonstrate personal commitment in regard to safety and environmental practices.
  • Identification of potential hazards and action that is appropriately taken.
  • Maintenance of a high standard of efficiency, safety and effectiveness.
  • Raising, discussion and resolution of safety issues at regular meetings
